Current events-19th October 2013

On 17th October, The US federal government shut down came to an end after 16 days of gruesome political battle.President Obama signed the bill in order to get the government back in running. Working under a tight deadline, the congress had passed the bill that would prevent the country from crashing into the debt ceiling. The federal workers were able to resume to work.
Although the bill has resumed the government to work, this is a temporary solution because the debt cushion now extends through February 7, with current spending levels being authorized through January 15.
The shut down has brought great losses to the government, having taken $24 billion out of the economy. It has also changed Americans' perspectives of their leaders, who have shown that they cannot be trusted, especially the Republicans.
