60-Second Good To Knows - September 18th, 2012

This week's topic: Physics

Today, we will learn about the different forms of energy present in our world.

Kinetic Energy - The kinetic energy of an object is the energy which it possesses due to its motion. It is defined as the work needed to accelerate a body of a given mass from rest to its stated velocity. Kinetic energy is the energy of an object in motion.

Potential Energy - The potential energy of an object or a system due to the position of the body or the arrangement of the particles of the system. A rock on the edge of a cliff has a high potential energy, and a rock at the bottom of a valley has a low potential energy.
