60-Second Good-To-Knows 4-11-11

This week’s topic: History

Oracle-bone inscriptions refer to the ancient Chinese oracle bone writings found on animal bones and turtle shells used in divination rituals during China’s Bronze Age. The bones and turtle shells were inscribed upon using a bronze pin, and then heated, and cracked. These inscriptions are important historical records that confirm the existence of the Shang dynasty.
